And entry for OhHoneyBee contest

Ocs:
Ayíona - me
Angelica - OhHoneyBee

Story:
Ayíona was nothing beyond different. She was a druid. A fel druid. She was different from her people, and tried to avoid them as much as possible. The downside of her magic was that she could sense others emotions.

It just happened to be that day, that she decided to explore. She didn't wish to stray to far from the colony, or else they would try to find her. She didn't really want that. As a feral druid, she was covered in a thick layer of fur. Her fur caught the branches of every tree she passed. Soon, the branches began to pull her fur out, leave a dark trail behind her. This pleased her. She reached the edge of the wooded land, travelling at a run. She would be free from that place for a while, free, until they tried to find her. Here there was much magic. And then, she noticed something.

Small birds, dark brown in colour, were playing in the sacred grove. She sensed someone approach, but also sensed their fear. Identifying no threat, she returned to her place in the grass. It had been untouched by the birds. She settled down for a nap, knowing she was safer here, than in the woods.

Ayíona awoke to a bird resting on her nose. She sensed that there was another right behind her. Ayíona looked more like a cat than a pony, it seemed. There was someone, presumably perched upon the rock behind her, stroking her mane. Ayíona purred. Nothing felt better than that. Then, another bird landed in front of her. And a third. Instinctively, she pounced on them, only invoking laughter from behind her. She looked back to see pale, sky blue eyes, illuminated by a lamp. Quietly she settled down, knowing not what to say. The other sensed Ayíona's discomfort, and spoke for her. "My name" she said, softly, "is Angelica." Carefully, Ayíona looked up at her. "I'm Ayíona." Those words meant nothing. It was, a strange name, one not commonly used, even amongst the druids. This Ayíona explained. "I trust you can keep my grove a secret," Ayíona said, quietly observing what the birds had done. "This land will be safe," Angelica replied, accepting the wishes of another. Ayíona  again pounced on the birds, but this time, to someone who was not looking closely, they would have thought Ayíona was attacking Angelica, instead of the dark copper birds. And now, with so little light. The laughter in the area revealed another beauty. Each bird glowed. They all had markings, that, under the right circumstances, glowed bright gold.

End of story.

Please excuse the rubbish background. And my shading. I'm trying a few new techniques.

Until next time...
